Development of magnetic levitation system with position and orientation control

This work demonstrates the design and development of a magnetic levitation (MagLev) system that is able to control both position orientation levitated object. For control, pole placement method was exploited estimate parameters proportional integral derivative (PID) controller. In addition, MagLev constructed using pair electromagnets, two infrared (IR) receiver-emitter pairs servo motor allow object be controlled. The proposed controller programmed in LabVIEW environment, which then compiled deployed into an embedded NI myRIO board. Experimental results demonstrated achieve zero steady-state error when rotated from 0 ◦ ±90◦ , 0.3 cm without rotation, errors no greater than 1.2 with rotation.
